Coming back to art late in life....and LOVING IT!

I'm very excited to receive a Bold Brush "FAV15%" award for my plein air painting "In the Forest, Ft. Bragg, CA" from the Bold Brush Painting Competition for July, 2017. The painting was done on location during a recent trip to the northern coastal town of Ft. Bragg with a group of my best painting buddies! We braved the wind, the rain and even a little sunshine and had a wonderful three day adventure. "In the Forest" was done on the last day in a lovely spot that was literally on the edge of the coastal town and yet was hidden away in a dense redwood forest. I can't wait to go back!

While not one of the major awards in this extremely competitive national open competition, the FAV15% Award represents a pick by the competition staff as a favorite among the nearly 300 entries. I am very honored to have been mentioned. A major award remains a goal for now!
